Wired for work/life balance

When Michelle, an administrative assistant, realized that most of her work was done solely on her laptop, it occurred to her that teleworking would be an ideal way to capture more time in her busy schedule while reducing pollution and traffic at the same time.

For more than a year, Michelle has saved two and a half hours of weekly commute time simply by working from home once a week. But the benefits don’t stop there. Michelle has also found that teleworking is helping her achieve the work/life balance sought by so many working moms.

“I am able to enjoy more quality time with my three boys,” Michelle says. “In addition, my stress levels have dropped, and I’m saving money on gas.” Michelle also feels that for her, working from home provides a less distracting environment, allowing her to be more productive and produce more accurate work. The only downside? “I miss my co-workers and look forward to seeing them the next day!”
