Better Air for Your Community
Make it part of your life. Like breathing.
Decisions we make in our everyday lives affect the air quality around us. One of the easiest things you can do is take the One Ton Challenge . Here are some other actions that will help keep pollutants out of our air:
- Find a Better Air Neighborhood: You'll spend less time in your car if you live closer to work or near the activities you enjoy outside of work. When you're looking for a place to live, look near your workplace. Or, consider one of the many live, work and play communities in metro Atlanta. Check out the Livable Communites Coalition to learn more.
- Make a Smart Job Choice: Looking for a new job? Ask yourself -- is it easily accessible to transit? Close to home? Do they provide teleworking or commute alternative benefits? A better commute to work means you'll be less stressed, save time and save lots of money. To find which employers have commute options programs look here .
- Buy Better Air Products: There are plenty of greener products that help the air we breathe: manual or electric lawn equipment, better insulated windows and doors, ENERGY STAR ™ appliances and more. And, when shopping, do your research or shop online. You’ll save money and time in traffic.
- Get Your School on Board: Make your local school a better air place by asking school leaders to implement an no-idling program. Follow the lead of our Clean Air Schools to engage the whole community in the efforts to improve the air.
- Teach Better Air: Get your kids to be part of The Clean Air Campaign. Check out our lesson plans and activities to teach your kids about air pollution, and empower them to make choices that help our air quality.
- Give Green: The Clean Air Campaign is a nonprofit organization and relies on the support of others to continue its work. Make a tax-deductible donation to help us keep pollution out of the air and you out of traffic.
By choosing wisely, you can have more time, less stress and help improve the quality of life in the region by alleviating traffic congestion and reducing air pollution.
