Apply For A PACE Award

The PACE Awards are offered in five categories - small business, medium business, large business, public sector (government) and a property management company. Six additional awards recognize individual contributions and unique employer successes. One or more is right for you, your company or organization. You are welcome to enter as many categories as you would like, but a separate application must be completed for each entry.

PACE Awards entries for 2008 will be solicited beginning sometime in May of 2008. Please check back at that time to be able to download an application for consideration.

PACE Awards - Given to employers who demonstrate the best use of available resources to creatively influence employees or tenants to use commute options, reduce trips and retool operations and maintenance activities. Each applicant is judged on the robustness and excellence of its program and the program's effectiveness to reduce emissions. Awards will be presented in the following categories:

  • Small business (100 employees or less)
  • Medium business (101 - 750 employees)
  • Large business (750 employees or more)
  • Public sector (government employer of any size)
  • Property management company

PACE Starter Award - Recognizes an outstanding commute options program that is less than 18 months old. To be eligible, the program must have started after March 1, 2006. This program must sow commitment to traffic mitigation and air quality improvement and demonstrate a viable strategy for long-term success.

PACE Spotlight Award - Recognizes a program that has achieved success for one specific element (e.g., vanpooling or teleworking).

PACE Innovator Award - Presented to an employer or property management company that has developed an innovative solution to an air quality/traffic-related problem.

GDOT Commissioner's Award - Presented to an individual who has shown exemplary commitment to the improvement of air quality and the reduction of traffic congestion. The award specifically recognizes the role of community leaders, corporate executives and other individuals who have used their influence to change attitudes and develop solutions.

PACE Setter Award - The PACE Setter Award is presented to an individual who has a hands-on role in reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality by promoting, developing or maintaining effective employer-based programs. The winner exhibits enthusiasm and creativity and goes above and beyond the call of duty in making commute alternatives available at his/her work site.

Commuter Champion Award - Presented to an individual who does not have an official responsibility to develop or execute commute options programs, but who has made significant contributions in reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality by promoting commute options to his/her peers. The winner exhibits leadership, enthusiasm and creativity, and inspires others to try commute alternatives and to participate in commuter programs.
