Pedaling past traffic … and stress

Bob Knoll realized that being green was easy when his wife, a long time environmentalist, showed how every little bit helps and that with minimal effort, individuals can make a difference. So when he learned The Clean Air Campaign would pay him $3 a day to switch to a clean commute, it was a “no brainer.” He was thrilled to be able to shrink his carbon footprint, get some exercise and earn a few bucks along the way.

In the spring of 2008, Bob began riding his bike to work four days a week, and in the process, lost 30 pounds and a considerable amount of stress. “I really dislike sitting in traffic and on the bike there is no sitting, you just ride past everybody on the shoulder,” Bob says. “Also if I have a bad day at work I can just ride a little harder and my troubles melt away.”
