Phil Weinmeister used to sit alone in his car, fighting rush hour traffic for up to an hour and 15 minutes each way. If that wasn’t painful enough, then multiple downtown road construction projects began.

Phil knew he needed to make a change and decided to try transit. He used to think driving alone was easier, but he soon discovered his new clean commute on Xpress was the easiest option yet. For starters, Phil noticed his stress level dropped considerably. His wife Amy noticed too. Next he discovered the financial benefits, including saving about $1,000 in gas each year. Phil also participated in Cash for Commuters and earned $3 a day for the first three months of his new commute. His employer, EarthLink, a partner of Midtown Transportation Solutions, subsidizes his transit passes, saving him money there, too.

What are Phil and Amy doing with their newfound savings? They’re putting it towards the adoption of a child from Kazakhstan, and can’t wait to bring home the newest member of the family.

One last bonus sealed the deal for Phil. The first day he decided to take Xpress, a new route opened that took him straight from Hiram to his office. He knew then, he’d found the best solution for his family.
