Metro Atlanta Walk There Challenge 2008

During April, nearly 6,000 Metro Atlantans strapped on pedometers and laced up comfortable shoes. And then they walked, and walked and walked. In fact, this year's participants in the Metro Atlanta Walk There Challenge logged an amazing total of more than 456 million steps. Considering the average person covers one mile in 2,000 steps, that's 228,218 miles, which would span the globe at the equator nine times. And 11 of them walked away with a grand prize stay at the Inn at Serenbe!
