Hesitant to carpool, vanpool, use transit, bike or walk to work for fear of being stranded in the event of an emergency? Thanks to the Guaranteed Ride Home program, your worries are over!
Changes to the regional Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program were effective February 1, 2008. This highly successful program helps commuters who use commute alternatives get home or back to their cars in the case of an event such as unscheduled overtime, illness at work or an immediate family member’s illness requiring you or your commuting partner to leave work unexpectedly.
To provide commuters with the best service possible, the Atlanta Regional Commission, which administers the GRH program, is making some significant changes to streamline the GRH process:
As before, all eligible GRH participants can get up to five free rides each year. If you need assistance with a ride home or want to sign up for GRH, visit www.MyRideSmart.com. To assure that there is no interruption in your eligibility, return your signed GRH Application via fax to (404) 463-2288 at your earliest convenience.
